advocacy writings
![]() This booklet shares the impact of the organization for PCCA's first annual appeal collateral, which also introduced its new brand identity. I wrote all copy and laid out the design.
This document was used as a talking point with organization to fundraise strategically to support its education programs and to introduce ourselves to new foundations and donors. ![]()

ARTS advocacy writing in outreach collateral
PCCA's strategic plan was updated in early 2018. One goal was to transition PCCA printed events newsletter to a magazine-style outreach collateral.
Along those lines, the quarterly-or-so newsletter was now joined by a special issue in Summer 2018 focusing on our Arts-in-Education partnership, as well as by our first-ever Annual Report in 2016-2017. All these publications focused on advocacy, impact, and PCCA's strategic future. They served and continue to serve as excellent relationship building tools to help keep current stakeholders apprised, and even more importantly, to grow PCCA's network of program partners, donors, funders, board members, and members to the impressive number of 75,000 supported annually.
As the collateral lengthened, its content became more compelling. The magazine-style publication came into full flower in 2018, and I was honored to write introductions to all of these publications. The capable and talented (always and forever) and then- PCCA Director of Communications and Gallery Missy Smith was the editor, designer, photographer, and writer.
My two favorites are below.

Regional outreach and relationship building grew in 2018- 2019 through a series of presentations and projects between the PCCA, Leadership Harrisburg, and Leadership Cumberland.
